AI Resume Parsing: automate your candidate screening
Receiving dozens — sometimes hundreds — of resumes per job opening and don't have time to read them all? AI-powered resume parsing changes the game. Here's how it works and why more recruiters are adopting it.
What is resume parsing?
Resume parsing is the automated extraction of structured information from a CV: name, experience, skills, education, languages, location. Traditional parsing relied on rigid rules and keyword lists. Today, AI understands semantic context — it knows that "3 years at Salesforce" means CRM experience, even if "CRM" never appears in the resume.
The problem with manual screening
The numbers speak for themselves:
Manual screening creates a double problem: it's slow (frustrating candidates) and imprecise (causing you to miss good profiles). The higher the application volume, the worse these problems get.
How AI parsing changes the game
A smart resume parser doesn't just extract text. It understands the content, compares it to your job description, and assigns a matching score to each candidate. The result: a ranked shortlist with clear explanations of each candidate's strengths and red flags.
Concrete benefits
Massive time savings — what took 4 hours happens in seconds. You go from exhaustive reading to validating a pre-qualified shortlist.
Objectivity — AI evaluates every resume against the same criteria. No fatigue bias (the 80th resume gets the same attention as the first), no unconscious bias based on name or photo.
Thoroughness — every resume is actually analyzed, not skimmed. Atypical but relevant profiles no longer fall through the cracks.

Is it GDPR compliant?
Cynthra extracts text from resumes directly in your browser. PDF files are never uploaded to our servers — only the extracted text is sent for analysis, and it's not retained after processing.
What resume formats are supported?
Cynthra natively reads PDFs. Resumes must contain selectable text (not scanned images). Word (.docx) support is coming soon.
Can AI replace a recruiter?
No, and that's not the goal. Cynthra is a decision-support tool. It saves time on the screening phase so you can focus your expertise on what matters: human evaluation during interviews.
