Resume matching score: rank candidates by relevance

How do you objectively know which candidate best fits your position? AI-powered CV scoring assigns a relevance score to each application, based on the actual criteria in your job description.

How does matching score work?

The CV matching score is a 0-100 rating measuring the fit between a resume and a job description. The higher the score, the better the candidate's profile matches what you're looking for.

Unlike keyword filtering that looks for exact matches, AI scoring understands semantic equivalences. A candidate who mentions "project management" will be recognized as relevant for a role requiring "gestion de projet," even if the exact term doesn't appear.

Scoring example

For a B2B SaaS Sales role in Paris, here's what a scored shortlist looks like:

SL
Sophie Laurent
5 yrs SaaS exp. · Paris · HubSpot confirmed
94
TM
Thomas Martin
3 yrs exp. · Lyon · B2B but not SaaS
87
AD
Amina Diallo
7 yrs exp. · Remote · Strong closer
81
+12
12 other candidates
scores from 23 to 65

What criteria are scored?

Technical skills — tools, technologies and expertise mentioned in the CV and required by the role.

Experience — years, company type (startup, enterprise, B2B, B2C), and industry sector.

Education — relevant degrees and certifications.

Location — geographic compatibility between the candidate and workplace.

Languages — if the role requires specific languages, they factor into the score.

High score = good candidate?

Not necessarily. The score measures fit with your job description, not the candidate's intrinsic quality. An excellent senior developer will score low if you're looking for a sales profile. It's a screening tool, not a value judgment.
